Happy Halloween 2016

Hiking Dry Canyon: It was fun taking the kids on a short hike up dry canyon. Nate initially thought it was a spot for fossil hunting but turns out we were in the wrong spot and didn't see any fossils. It was still a fun day to spend together our in nature.
Chloe wiggling her tooth the whole time!

Blain got a little disinterested in the whole hike, until he discovered all the MOSS growing on the rocks. He would get so excited each time we came to a new boulder with moss growing on it

Enjoying some of the beautiful red leaves

Pretty cool spot for a family picture

My sweet Avenlea hiking the trail

And Zeyta hiking a little too!

Can't get enough of this cutie

Farmy News: We finally preg checked Bella and we think that she is probablty about 120 days pregnant. From what the you tube videos describe it matches what we both felt when checking her. I have to admit it was pretty cool and disgusting at the same time. There was lots of poop and I almost lost my shoulder length glove but I was able to feel what I thought was a good sized calf and lots of fluid in the sac. Now come March if there is no baby we might have to re think our preg checking abilities but for now we feel pretty confident!
We have also decided to butcher Ferdinand ourselves in January. Our buyer fell through and we think we are ready to try some farm raised, home butchered beef! I'm getting kind of excited for all the beef we will get since I never buy beef because it is so expensive. And best of all we will have virtually nothing invested in the beef money wise so it'll be pretty close to free! He is eating his fair share of hay right now but that should only amount to maybe 50 dollars in the long run by the end of the year. AND I think we might try to tan the hide because his coloring is so cool!

Kitty love! Fuzz got super cuddly lately and the babies loved holding her and carrying her around, but she followed us to the bus stop and then never came back about a week ago. Her sister is still trying to sleep in the chicken coop every night and waiting for me in the milk barn every morning for some squirts of milk.

Blain helping back fill the post holes - Nate is so close to enclosing the dry lot! Then we can let Prince Ali out of his solitary confinement. He went over the fence twice in 3 days so had to lock him up in the small stall because he jumped the pig pen fence too! I lured him back onto our property with some grain and after a lot of trial and error got him to go into the stall. Times like that I am SO OVER having livestock. But he seems relatively happy in there and we give him plenty of hay, but I still think he will be glad to get out.

Blain with Fuzz

Avenlea with her "wish". She's been so cute giving me a wish and then blowing hers with the cutest scrunchy face I've ever seen

Momma comes to visit: It was so fun having mom come for a week long stay. We had a really fun Halloween Tea Party complete with costumes where I contributed some home made clotted cream! and we were able to use the new Tea Set Sam gave us from Japan. Mom and the kiddos made sugar cookies for the tea and we had cucumber sandwiches and lots of other yummy food.

cutting out the sugar cookies - poor Chloe had pink eye so she wore some goggles and washed her hands all the time. No one else got pink eye so she must have done a good job! Sometimes I'm overwhelmed by how responsible Chloe is at only 6 years old!!

Frosting!!

The tea participants :) I think this might be Theron's first, and last tea lol!

and we had a fun costume parade around Em's block afterward

The little Ariels

We also went to Jaker's Jack O Lanterns for some pumpkin patch fun! There were animals, a big slide into corn, a GIANT corn pit, hay ride, corn maze and a spook Alley!

Zeyta didn't love the corn pit but if I held her she had fun picking up handfuls of corn

corn angel

Blain's signature head stand! He is getting so good at those head stands! Nate keeps warning me that when he gets older he'll be doing those on the edge of cliffs or on stair railings...

Silly Chloe

Ward Party with the Mitchells: After a fun Frisbee game for mommy we stayed in Orem and went to Em's ward Halloween party. Poor Blain wasn't feeling 100% but it was still fun eating chili, playing games and parading around in our costumes!

I got to hold Avenlea and Summer's hands :)

Halloween Night: We were lucky to get to go to Paul and Sawsha's Halloween party and trick or treat with the Mitchell cousins this year. It was fun and the kids got lots of yummy candy.

Oh these two! I bent down to get a good picture of them and they both bent down too!!

Before leaving they doggy piled up on Daddy!

The group! You can see most people's faces

Going up to the doors - there was a fast group and slow group again but they all hit the same houses and had a couple together when the older kids waited for the younger ones

Daddy holding Zeyta going up to the houses

My cutie tiger cub

Iron Man!! He told me this was the best Halloween ever because he got some chips!

And one with the mask - he's not wearing his gloves in this picture but he REALLY wanted the matching gloves which didn't come with the suit so I got them since we didn't have to buy him a costume last year. Well at one house they had a little s'more set up and of course he had to stay to roast a marshmallow, compile his smore and then eat the s'more. Well he left the gloves that he "had to have" at that house and 20 minutes later we realized they were missing. So Daddy had to walk back and get them. A little reminiscent of him losing his tail as toothless doing the same loop a couple years ago.

Love this picture of Mommy and Zeyta

And one more for posterity

best happy face we could get - Avenlea had a rough time before leaving for the party but once we were at Paul and Sawsha's she was perfectly fine, except whenever I asked to take a picture. It is amazing what she will do for candy though!

holding and eating her full size bag of M&M's

I got my picture taken with Tony Stark!!
