Mother's Day: My family was so sweet to me on mother's day. I got a yummy pancake, bacon and egg breakfast, beautiful cards, and at church we were served a nice brunch and given a delicious sugar cookie! Hearing all the talks on mothers and talking with my family members has given me new resolve to be a better mom, more patient with my kiddos, and to love every stage of life they are in no matter how challenging!
We started a little sticker chart for good behavior and it is working very well for Chloe and Blain. Avenlea doesn't seem to care about changing her drama rama ways to get stickers, but it's an improvement! I think I'm also gonna make sure we have some outside time for all our sanity. With all the lovely rain we've been cooped up and that may have contributed to the increased level of fighting and whining. So here's hoping nice weather and the promise of a fun family activity after a full sticker chart will make life a little easier for the next little bit!

Grandpa and Grandma Moyeda come to visit: It was really fun to have dad and Peggy come down for a visit this past week. I took Chloe and Blain out of school so we could spend the night at Em's and spend the day with them. They brought a box full of books and fun toys for the kids which they have been loving! We spent the day vising the Bean Museum on BYU campus and playing at McDonalds for lunch.
These rainbow streamers were a big hit with all the kids!

This Liger used to live at the Hogel Zoo until it died and they donated it's body to the museum
Chloe the lion - funny story about this room - There is this big spinning lion attacking an animal in the center of the room. Em asked Chloe if she saw the lion getting the deer? Chloe answered, "Actually I think it's a gazelle." Lol. Leave it to my kiddos to know random animals. Reminds me of the Orca story a few years ago!
Story time where they read a funny book about a duck on a bike and then they got to pet this big lizard!
We came down on the elevator with the workers just before going in this room so the kids also got to see a tarantula and a small turtle or frog (can't remember?)
Not too sure about that giant reptile!
They sure do love their grandpa!

Farmy News: We had our first harvest from the garden! The lettuce on this burger is from the garden! When I set the lettuce down on the table Blain immediately grabbed the whole stack and started eating it plain. I had to take it back quick so the rest of the family could enjoy some home grown lettuce too! The bacon is from Dorothy and we hope to have tomatoes and beef sometime in the future!
It tasted just as good as it looks!
I finally cut the grass between the rows of the berries. It was quite a job picking up all the rocks, dirt clots, and sticks before actually getting to the mowing. The push mower struggled on the big grass patches and I had to go around with the weeder tool and shovel to dig up a bunch of invading dandelions after I fininshed mowing. It looks kind of wrecked with all the dirt patches and cut dandelions but at least it won't go to seed and make it even harder to keep weeded! I'm so hopeful that we will get berries this year!
My sweet girls! This little one has a fever today so I'm pretty sure she's finally getting some teeth but we'll have to wait and see!
