One week til Baby!

Summer has begun: The weather has turned really nice and we are enjoying every minute of it. It's quite the chore to keep up with all the watering this year but everything is thriving and really starting to grow. I planted my starts in the garden yesterday and I think they survived their first day even if they are looking a little wilty.
The summer garden - hopefully with more carrots planted if I ever get around to planting them in the spots where nothing came up the first round. The tomatoes are in the row right next to the peas and then two rows of vining plants. The marker I used to write on the cups washed off so I really have no idea which ones are where, but that seems to always happen so it's not a surprise. We are working on the whole "back to Eden" gardening and it is covered in wood chips (lots and lots of wheel barrows full) and they are doing a fabulous job at keeping the weeds down and the moisture in.
pounding in posts for the pea trellis

Siri continues to be a big pest, following me around and trying to scratch up my mulch and eat my plants but with the chicks now occupying the coop throughout the day there isn't much I can do to keep her out until we build the new "addition" to the coop or fix the fencing.
What can I say, she must love us
chicks in the run - we have been letting them out for about a week now and they are little pros at using the ramp to go in and out now. We still have to herd them in at night, and with lots of little hands helping it goes pretty fast. We get them in their side of the coop then close the wire flap and put Siri back in the run. It's working out ok but it will be better when we have two separate enclosures and more space for them at night.
"Wing" as Avenlea calls it - her new love and must have at least 3 times a day :)
Tough fire fighter Blain helping with the watering chores

Brag tags and Bowling: Heber does this really cool summer program with the local businesses where the kids can do "unplugged" activities (no tv or ipad or video games) and then tell about it or show a picture to that business and they get a "brag tag" to add to a little lanyard provided for each kid. There are 101 activities and most of them seem really fun and doable. I signed them up for a swim class at a physical therapy office (free) where they played water games and learned about pool safety. We are currently working on flossing day and night for a week to earn a free icecream for an orthodontist office in town. My work also took the staff and our families bowling to celebrate nursing home week and the babies loved it. Chloe asks about every other day if we can go bowling again.
Blain with his fish floatie - the only way he would get in the water was to be in that fish, wearing the blue goggles, and holding on to his teacher
Chloe opted to sit in that corned and "relax" rather than play the games for the most part (she didn't want to put her face in the water), but by the end she was using the bar that went around the pool to scoot around and had a good time even though she didn't participate with her class much

Chloe loved putting her fingers in the holes to "bowl"
Blain was excited about bowling for about the first 4 frames then declared he was ready to go home. We ended up leaving after 8 frames each. I think next time we'll share turns rather than having everyone on their own as it did take a while.
Sisters! Chloe can't wait to have another little baby sister and asks everyday when the baby will be born. I have been having weekly appointments and everything is going well. The baby is head down and kicking like the soccer player she's gonna be ;) I have one more appointment next week on my due date and an induction scheduled for Friday the 19th if I don't go into labor before then. The swelling and tingling have thankfully gone down some and I sleep most nights on the futon propped up with multiple pillows, but it works and I get a pretty good night's sleep. I'm so excited to see her little face soon. We have been getting everything ready and put away for her big arrival. We bought a dresser, put the clothes away, set up the bassinet, cleaned our room, washed all the old baby blankets and burp cloths... It's been busy but fun thinking that she will be here to join our family soon!
