We've been having fun getting ready for Christmas, I've been trying to find some activities that Chloe and Blain can do with me. They seem to have fun with it so far.
Snow: its been cold and snowy, like -18 cold on some nights and early morning. Poor Blain froze his little hands going from the car to the grocery store. But we have gone out on a couple sunny days. It's still too cold to stay out for long but we have fun for the time we're out. the snow has been too dry for snowmen or forts lately but we make angels and snow piles.

Chloe got herself dressed to go outside and get "ice cones". We have some MASSIVE icicles hanging from our porch. I let her go out for a minute to get a big one laying in the snow. I think she realized why I get her all bundled up, she was pretty cold when she got back in.
Home made Jelly: we have been enjoying the fruits of our labor in the form of apple and apricot jelly. I made the apricot jelly way back at the beginning of summer at Em's house but it was ROCK hard. So I heated it back up and added a jar of apple jelly juice to two jars of apricot jelly and it turned out to be the perfect consistency. It's really yummy too! So far we are half way through our 2nd jar of apple jelly and have 1/4 jar left of the first 1/2 jar of apricot, if that makes sense.
Yum!

Avenlea 3 months: No Dr's appointment this month but here are some cute pictures of how big she is getting. She likes to look at toys now and will sit in her green bouncy and grab for the lion and the duck hanging from the loop above her.

Getting the Christmas Tree: We went to a local nursery and picked out our beautiful Christmas tree. It was so cold little Avenlea didn't get out of her seat, but Chloe and Blain got candy canes and were sneaky in the trees.

Thanks for your help babies!
Sugar Cookies: I tried a new recipe of sugar cookies and they turned out pretty good, nice and soft but tasted a little floury. The icing was super easy to make - no mixer required - and turned out nice and shiny and pretty.

Frosting brigade - Blain just shoveled the frosting into his mouth as fast as he could so we took a "break" until he went down for his nap and then finished.
Snowflakes: Chloe and Blain love using scissors to do crafts at the library so I thought snowflakes would be a fun decoration to make. We bought some safety scissors and let them go to town. They weren't super coordinated with their cutting but I thought they did a good job for their first try.

Very serious about her snowflake making
Sneaker: Chloe has become the queen of getting into things she shouldn't - make up, suckers, toothpaste... I put her down for a nap and about 10 minutes later she "sneaks" out of her room. Normally she just goes downstairs to the playroom but occasionally, when it's just too quiet, I find her getting into mischief. Best story so far: I walk into the mudroom to find Chloe sitting on the dryer with Rescue pack filled with dum dum suckers. We put them back and she says she is going downstairs but "mommy don't be sneaky". A little confused I follow her down only to see every pail, basket, halloween pumpkin etc. filled with suckers too! She got upset at me for being "sneaky" and seeing her suckers but we got past it. What a cutie pie trouble maker.
