Some fun activites leading up to Christmas, the big day, and our time in San Diego
Gingerbread: We did gingerbread houses as a family night activity the monday before leaving for San Diego. I bought a little mini village with 4 small houses for us to decorate. It turned out to be a lot of fun.

Our little Christmas: We did Christmas on the 20th so we could leave early the next day and still get the feel of Christmas morning. Santa even made a special trip to our house to accomodate our schedule ;)

Opening presents from Grandpa and Grandma
Bow and Arrow for Mommy - Nate has since rigged me up a target and I've been having fun shooting at it. I'm not super accurate but I hope to be!
Avenlea in her tunnel from Santa
We wrapped up the best of the apple pie filling, typed up a recipe for apple crisp and gave that as gifts to the family and friends we saw over Christmas.
Roadtrip: Everyone did really well on the 13 hour ride to San Diego. We left at 5 am and for the first 3 hours we had snowy snowy icey roads, but the rest of the way was pretty smooth. We did a 2 hour stop at a McDonalds playplace and stopped about every 2 1/2 hours to feed Avenlea, but overall as good as can be expected thanks to snacks and the Backyarigans.
SAN DIEGO CHRISTMAS: we spent most of the trip at Wendy's house in her awesome playroom but also did some fun activities like Kidventures, baking, beach and Balboa park.
Puzzles in the Play Room
Super yummy treats - pretzel, rollo and walnut on top all warmed in the oven
Kid Ventures: Mom was so nice to pay for all the grandkids to go to Kidventures on Christmas Eve. It's a big play room with different rooms full of different toys and activities like a dance room, babydoll nursery, grocery store, pirate ship and castle. They had TONS of fun playing together.
Ok so he didn't climb all the way himself, but he held on for the picture!

Grocery Shopping
Playing Dinosaurs with Timmy and Grandma
Christmas Morning: We ALL slept over at Wendy's house (we stayed at Yuv's most of the time) Christmas Eve trying our best to replicate the tradition of all sleeping in the same bed/room that we had growing up. We all came into Wendy's room in the morning and Grandpa read the Christmas story (Luke 2) then we had a fun Christmas morning full of presents, hot chocolate and tim tam slams!
Chloe and her pink Teddy bear from Santa - whenever I asked her what she wanted this Christmas she would say a pink Teddy bear so I'm glad she got one!

Tim Tam Slam!
Watching Christmas movies
Beach Day! It was plenty warm enough to do a beach day so we took the babies to the beach for some sand and sun. Blain ventured out a little and played in the sand and even asked to go down and put his toes in the water.
Digging in the sand
Playing with cousing Marie
Avenlea's first trip to the beach - Aunt Chelsea was so nice to hold her a lot of the time.
Hopefully a new years post to follow if I get pictures - my camera was MIA for about a week so I have to get them from Em.
