Life is good

The Coop: so the chicks were getting WAY too big to be living inside so Nate took 3 days to build this AWESOME chicken coop. He designed it himself to include a walk in run, loft inside and big doors for easky cleaning. Here are the stages as well as the finished product. I was able to help put some of the chicken wire up and am mostly responsible for the large size, I guess I'm a sucker for our little ladies!

Graduation!!! Nate graduated in April and I am so proud of him for all his hard work. Molly was able to walk with him and his mom came to the ceremony.

Just a funny picture of Blain. He's been crawling for about a month and half now and getting into more and more trouble. he somehow made it into the laundry basket but couldn't get himself out. He also has 3 teeth and is in the process of getting his fourth. What a big boy!
The garden: we have had our ups and downs this year so far, and it's only MAY! the raised bed is doing great but alot of the swaures seem to be intermixed with different plants while others remain empty. We should be ready to harvest some lettuce and spinach any day now. The in ground garden required a couple replants of the peas and corn but all is growing splendidly now. My sunflowers have popped up now all we're waiting for are the squash, watermelon and pumpkins. We might just have to bite the bullet and buy starters for our tomatoes and peppers. The starts we grew are tiny and refuse to grow even though they've been in the ground for over a week now. They are looking exactly the same. i'm just glad we're getting some things to grow because for a while there I was about ready to give up. God really does bless gardens to grow!

With chickens and a garden we needed to fence the garden in. Chloe was so helpful as daddy built a fence and gate. I love haveing our big bakcyard with lots of space for the kids, chickens and the garden.i'll be sad if the day to move ever comes.
