Happy Birthday Zeyta! and trip to Cali!

Trip to San Diego: We drove down Wednesday to San Diego for a couple days of fun in the sun with family. Nate wasn't super thrilled about all the beach trips but the rest of us sure were!
Day 1 La Jolla Shores: We started the day off nice and early with yummy home made oatmeal and rushing around to get ready for the beach!
I love Wendy's booth style table set up
The kids spent all day digging a huge hole that they tried to keep full of water. Chloe and Timmy were the main diggers but everyone pitched in!
Blain Dylan and Gabe in the hole
My little wild child - she looks so crazy with her out of braids and ocean wet hair! I love her!!
Avenlea was my big surprise this trip. She is usually so timid in the water but she was the one playing in the waves the most! She and Ruby were pretty inseparable which was nice because they would help each other up if one of them fell when they were running from the white water.
 Love how adventurous she is!

Blain was the one giving me ulcers with how daring he was in the water! He is fearless when he probably shouldn't be because he's so little and is just barely getting the hang of swimming. But sometimes he would come out of the water and tell me how he got twirled around by the waves and how he thought he wouldn't be able to come up for air!! With 9 kids running around it's hard to keep track of where they all are in the water but I made sure to keep an eye on this daring dude!
Good work Chloe - She got a pretty bad burn after telling me she did her own sunscreen and I never followed up until a couple hours later. She did get her shoulders, chest and face but her back was red but she really didn't complain too much. We kept her lotioned up at Wendy's and as you'll see covered up the next days with her rash guard which I should have made her wear the first day...

To the pool!
Even after being so daring in the waves Avenlea is still timid in the pool where she can't touch. She hung out on the steps and played on the pole
Cuties playing on the steps
Tricks with my big kids. Chloe and Blain took turns diving off my shoulders. It was fun to have a photographer catching some of their better stunts!
At least she remembered to plug her nose!
Nice back flip Blain!
Oh my sweet Zeyta Z!
We ate bagels on the way down to save money so we could go out to eat at TORPASTA! It's been a long time since we've eaten out as a family so it was a nice treat and Shamene and her family came as well!
Avenlea and Dylan making silly faces during dinner
 Blain eating his cheese pizza
Chloe wanted a whole torpedo with spaghetti and meatballs but we had to reel her in and just order a half. She ate the entire thing!
Sweet Zeyta and auntie Shum sharing some pasta
 Cutie Pie Avenlea
 "We love carbs!"

Day 2 Law St Beach: The kiddos wanted to go to a beach that had sea shells since the day before they found "shells" but they were live animals in them so we made them put them back. We were planning on just going for a walk then leaving but all the kids wanted to play and stay!
 More fund in the surf!
My sweet Chloe who goes in a little too deep for my liking but she did great in the waves
 Digging for shells!
 Look at those 2 cuties!
Nate played with Zeyta for a long time in the water, running from waves, sitting and letting the water swirl around them, and jumping over as high as they could!
Blain and Benji building sand castles together
Back to work on that shovel! The hole wasn't quite as big the second day but they did try to block the waves with giant bunches of sea weed. While they were gone on their walk for shells another group of kids came and stole their sea weed! They were pretty upset until Nate gave them a little lesson on density and why the sea weed wasn't such a good idea in the first place

Day 3 Dylan's Baptism and Playing in the Bay: Dylan's Baptism was so nice and I was able to feel the spirit so strong confirming what I know to be true of the blessing of baptism. Shamene had an incredible dessert table and later had catering from Delucas restaurant. Dylan asked that all his cousins sing When I am Baptized and I was so proud of all of them for singing so well!
All the cousins from my side of the family!

Mission Bay!
This is Nate's kind of beach - lots of rocks and small animals for exploring. Look at those two catching crabs and other animals
Zeyta in her new swim suit from Grandma Janice
Cuties watching the little crabs walking around the frisbee
What a fun group all playing in the sand, kayaking together, and swimming in the calm water
Timmy got this kid sized Kayak a few years ago and let each of the kids take a turn paddling around. Blain did awesome and learned how to steer and paddle pretty quickly!
This little tiny was all about swimming and playing in the water. She was so brave again, looks like we need to spend more time in the ocean to cure her of her fear in the water
Avenlea out on her own! The water stayed shallow for a long ways out which was good...
because she needed to be rescued by her older brother a couple times when she got stuck on the rocks or too turned around
Grandma also brought her kayak and took the babies out for a ride one at a time
 Racing Timmy!
Timmy and Avenlea played this little game for a while - Timmy would pretend to get her and she would laugh and laugh and run away as fast as she could through the water. It was the cutest thing. Timmy is always so nice to his little cousins!
Getting out the door for this evening adventure was hard but SO worth it! There was a fun play ground and the sandy Bay was perfect for kiyaking and swimming. It was a little chilly out but the water was so nice that all the kids were in and playing around!
Not quite sure what she was showing me by she was sure happy about it!
Chloe getting ready for her turn!
On our last morning it was Father's Day! The kids all made Nate cards with what they love most about their Daddy! We made him breakfast in bed and let him drive all 12 hours home ;)
My cute sleepers when we finally got home

Back in Utah: We are settling into our summer routine of summer school and a couple fun activities!
Zeyta and I get to spend 2 hours a day just us while the kids are in summer school and robotics camp! We found this awesome little trail right up the hill from UVU wasatch campus where Blain has his robotics camp. We spent 2 hours exploring, throwing rocks and geocaching!
Zeyta helping me find the micro cache!
Lunch at summer school!
Blain super excited after his first robotics day! He has his best friend in the class with him which makes it even better and extra fun!

Zeyta turns 3: We tried extra hard to make Zeyta's birthday fun and memorable!
We played at the pool for our 2 hours of one on one time
 Lunch at summer school
Opening presents! She got so many princess figurines and fun stuffed toys that she now sleeps with
To the Movies! We have never gone to the movies as a family of 6 before and with the Incredibles 2 out in theaters right now we decided to go for Zeyta's birthday
She liked the movie even if she got a little restless about 1/2 way through. But she loved the popcorn and treats and sitting on Mommy's lap the whole time
 Rainbow cake as requested!
 Blowing out her candles!
Good job cutting the cake all by herself!
Mommy was busy helping Blain who had a really bad bloody nose but we watched you from the sideline and Chloe was so awesome helping you out!
YUMM!!
