Happy Mother's Day

Homestead: Here are a few things gong on with our homestead.
The "neighbors" over for a visit. We saw this mamma cow and 4 calves in our front yard the other day.

Last of the Bacon - Nate cooked up some of this for my Mother's Day breakfast and I turned the last of it into Grandma Macaroni. This REALLY makes me want to get another pig or two this year. The breeders that I have contacted for the Guinea Hogs haven't lead to much hope of getting a pair this year. But we'll see.

Milk!! We are getting more milk now thank goodness. The most I have gotten is 3/4 gallon put into a half gallon jar plus a quart. I need to make some yogurt with all this delicious milk.

My veggie starts - well I got a few to survive the terrors of our little 1 1/2 year old and they seem to be doing well. I need to get the lone broccoli start in the ground soon and probably start hardening off the tomatoes if they are gonna go in the ground in June. I planted the vining warm weather plants 3 days ago so I hope they germinate and grow!

Happy Mother's Day: I had the best mother's day. I had to work the night before so Nate let me sleep in until about 9:30. I woke up to heart shaped pancakes, scrambled eggs, fresh milk, home raised bacon, and a delicious smoothy. As I "stumbled" in the door after work I saw my beautiful flowers on the table with a bag of Twix and "chocolate balls of goodness" filled with carmel, one of my favorite chocolates. Chloe also made me this beautiful card with a note from Nate in the back. Inside the card were pictures of daddy making pancakes, a heart with Chloe in the middle, me sleeping in my bed and the babies being quiet so I could get some rest. It made me So happy.
At church Chloe and Blain both went up with the Primary and sang me a mothers day song. Blain was so funny, getting a little lost in the crowd of kids going up there and wouldn't come back down after they were done. Chloe was smiling and singing the song the whole time.
After church we had family dinner of a "hiccup" roast, complete with sides of fresh veggies, drinks, dessert, and rolls and an avocado salad brought by Yuko and Abe. It was fun having everyone over and Nate even cleaned the WHOLE house the night before which may have been the best part ;)

Cream of Wheat: I figured I'd get a picture of these cuties eating their favorite meal.
Avenlea dipping her toast and enjoying her bowl
Chloe and Blain  - I love how getting them to eat is never a problem when I make cream of wheat

 Messy Girls
This made me laugh, not sure what they were playing but this is what it involved...
 Play Dough ice cream cones

We took a little family trip to Whiskey Springs yesterday to throw rocks in the creek and do a little mini hike. Sam is heading back up to Washington and was so nice to want to spend some time with the kiddos. He came up for the day, bringing McDonalds and a day full of fun and play.
