The Coop: We spent all day Saturday painting the coop. Now it "looks kinda like a barn" according to Chloe. It was an adventure with our two little helpers but it turned out looking pretty good. We still have some touch ups and edges to finish but overall it's ready for the little chicks to move in!
I think I'm gonna try them out there tomorrow morning and watch to make sure they aren't too cold. If they seem to be too cold I'll bring them in at night and wait another week. Hopefully they will be fine with the heat lamp on and all the doors closed. Can't wait to get them out of the mud room, which now has a nice layer of chick dust covering every surface.

What helpful babies
Chloe asked for more pain in her cup about every 3 minutes. Poor thing, she ended up with paint all over her hair and face thanks to a rambunctious brother who went overboard with his paintbrush.
Nate picking up my slack - I have no finesse with painting so he did most of the trim and the "hard spots" for me, in addition to everything else that day.
Our cute coop - the best part is this one cost 1/2 what the last one did thanks to all the repurposed wood, chicken wire, and roofing. Turned out the hinges and locks were the most expensive items. I'm so happy to have chickens again!
Haircut # 4: A long over due haircut for Blainito was given tonight. Goodbye shaggy Blain. He was so serious through the whole haircut. He liked getting vacuumed afterwards for clean up though, which was surprising because he is normally very afraid of the vacuum.
