Happy Halloween and Avenlea's Blessing

Avenlea 2 months: I had to cancel Avenlea's 2 month appointment so we could go to cornbelly's but here is a picture of her last Sunday. She is getting so big so fast. She gives us lots of smiles and is sleeping like a champ, last night she slept 11 hours!! Blain is a talking champ and often talks to me about everything that crosses his little mind while we drive to Orem. He has a great imagination and pretends his hand is a car, train, or net, and his fingers are knives, swords and magic wands. He has such a sweet side and will give me kisses on the cheek or forehead whenever I ask. He is a puppy at least once a day and is often other animals too. It's always fun to see what mommy I will be, my least favorite being whale and snail so far. He just comes up to me and calls me, "Mommy puppy (etc)" and that's what I am for the day. Chloe is learning so much and is also a good pretender. She knows all her letters and can sound out words (with mommy's help), write her name and letters, and is learning her days of the week and seasons. She makes up stories for her and Blain to act out and when she is in character she will not respond to her own name and always corrects me when I call Blain by his name instead of who he is pretending to be. She also loves to be told stories and read books. She will come up with a random scenario for me to make up a story about. It can make my brain hurt after a while trying to keep up with all the stories she wants to hear, but it makes me proud that she is so creative.

Halloween Party: On the 28th we went to Nate's work party. I didn't get any pictures at the party but beforehand the super heroes had fun flying with daddy. The party was really fun, they had fishing for candy bags, face painting, and lots of yummy food. We sat next to a nice elderly couple who were super friendly and at the end of the night Blain tried to go home with them. It might be because of the bag full of suckers they had... but it still was super cute to see how much he liked them.

It was fun being a superhero with my babies
Cornbelly's: Like I mentioned earlier we went to Cornbelly's on the 29th. Molly had gone earlier in the month and got us bounce back passes for cheap so that was awesome too. It turned out to be a fieldtrip day so we barely got in because it was supposed to be closed to the public, but Em guilted the man at the ticket office into it telling him how far we'd driven :) Most of the attractions were closed but it was still lots of fun and plenty to keep 2 toddlers and a preschooler busy. Avenlea slept in the front carrier the whole time, what a sweety. It was REALLY cold so we stayed for about 2 hours then went back to Em's.
Chloe walked over to this puppet show all by herself and sat down to watch the show.

 Watching the pig races
Picture with the HUGE pumpkins. I couldn't believe they were real when the attendant told us.
Halloween Day and Night: Wendy and her family, Shamene and Dylan, and Mom got to Em's around 11:00 am on Halloween. We headed down early and had lots of fun playing. Then we got ready for the ward party. It was a really cool party. There were tons of fun games, hay rides and delicious food.
Blain and Chloe loved wearing Timmy's captain hook hat
Throwing bean bags in the monster mouth
Avenlea slept most of the party but looked real cute doing it
Chloe bobbing for doughnuts
Blain getting a doughnut - so this little guy was hooked on doughnuts. Everytime we weren't sure where Blain was we just looked over at the doughnut station and there he was getting another one.

We went Trick or Treating around Em's neighborhood. Timmy, Dylan and Chloe RAN from house the house with Timmy in the lead for the first 30 minutes. Blain was about a house behind and Benji decided he would rather eat a bag of Halloween pretzels in the stroller. Uncle Ted and Auntie Em took turns helping Marie up to the door. It was a quick hour of going door to door but lots of fun. it makes me wish we could trick or treat with all the cousins every year.
 The fast group
Timmy the leader. The big kids waited for Blain and Marie to catch up every couple of houses
On the ride home - Chloe did her own make-up which took a while to rub off before bed.
Family Time: Em and I took turns having everyone over to our houses. We had BEAUTIFUL weather for this time of year. It was fun to let all the cousins run around making leaf piles, visiting the horses, playing with toys and making lots of memories. Chloe and Timmy played really well together and Dylan and Blain really liked playing together. It was such a fun long weekend.
Uh oh, maybe a little too much fun in the water
Raking the leaves into a big pile
Jumping in the leaves and yelling something about Darth Vader...

Ruby 5 months and Avenlea 2 months. Ruby was SO smiley the whole time!
Avenlea's Blessing Day: BLIZZARD! That is the best way to describe the weather. Luckily everyone was safe on their drives to our house but there was A LOT of snow. There were so many family and friends that came to show their love for little Avenlea being here in this world. There were around 50 people who came to the blessing including family from California, Nevada, Florida and of course Utah. We had a yummy lunch of Mexican food (beans, rice, taquitos, carnitas and tamales) which reminded me a lot of family get togethers at Grandma Mary's house. We love you Avenlea! We are so happy to have you in our family and are grateful for the special spirit we were able to experience while you were being blessed.
