Life in the States

Upon returning to Provo I decided one of the first things I needed to do was, of course, go camping at the beach. So Nate and I caravaned to San Clamente State beach to meet up with my family for some fun and sun. It was awesome. We had smores, made tin foil dinners and played in the waves. It was good to get to see everyone and I finally met Quinten, Shamene's fiance. All in all, a good couple of days.







Unfortunately for Nate, the waves were pretty big and strong. He took a little tumble in the waves and likes to show off his battle wounds...
So life in Oakland is going ok. Work has been hard to find, but I'll keep looking! We were able to visit a really nice beach which was full of sea life. There was a dead seal floating in the water (GROSS) and a BABY HUMPBACK WHALE!! that was super close to the shore. He kept surfacing and even showed us his head and tail. Other than that Nate and I get to spend our nights together, eating dinner at 10:00 and watching House. I'd been craving Klondike bars ever since House had a commercial for them, so I broke down and bought some from Safeway.
