Happy Birthday Zeyta!!

Happy Father's Day: We tried to pamper the daddy of this little family all day last Sunday. We woke up early to make crepes with nutella, strawberries and blueberries. He got some nice cards and presents and lots of love from our sweet babies.

 Opening his cards
We had family dinner with my Dad and lots of family. Theron smoked a beef brisket which was amazing and we had lots of yummy sides for a nice father's day dinner

Zeyta's Family Party: We celebrated Zeyta's birthday that same night and she was super cute singing along with her birthday song, blowing out her candles early, and getting fixated on each present that she opened and not wanting to open the next. We had people bring a fancy cheese to try and she liked most of the non spicy ones! She's so funny how much she loves cheese. Both Molly and Nicole Sperry were pretty pleased with the cheese platters ;)

Grandpa Tony was super nervous about her cutting the cake by herself but she did a good job!!
 Yummy!
My sweet 2 year old!
She had a lot of fun opening her presents :)

Birthday Girl: The next day was Zeyta's actual birthday and we kept it pretty low key playing with her new toys, opening a couple more presents, eating lunch at summer school, playing with Em,  Summer and Marie who came up for the day, and enjoying some yummy leftover birthday cake.
Coloring in her princess coloring book - the first thing she requested when she woke up. She loves being nakey so I let her stay in her baby skins all morning until leaving for summer school lunch
Eating the first peas from the garden!!
Wearing one of her new dresses from Grandma and Grandpa Moyeda coloring with her new sidewalk chalk from Auntie Shum. We love you so much Zeyta!

Homestead Update: Well there are lots of ups and downs here on the homestead lately. The biggest bummers being Bella's lack of baby in her belly and the freeze killing all our fruit. We have howeer bounced back from the setbacks with a little extra hard work. We are going to get Prince Ali tested to see if he's the problem or if it's Bella, and we are grateful our berries are still alive and bearing fruit, even if it's a little delayed.
Strawberries! I thought they were all dead but turns out there were quite a few blossoms that made it through the frost and the plants themselves flowered again so we have quite a few green strawberries getting bigger by the day!
All my plants are outside and growing pretty well! I did notice a little bit of cold damage to the vining plants but the peppers are looking good and just about ready to flower! I put my extra home made tomato cages around them to hopefully deter the deer this year.
I dug up the last living blueberry and planted it with acidic peet moss and planting soil. I really hope it grows!!
My little garden all planted! I put in one long row of green beans that I still need to trellis, 4 rows of corn, a row of edemame, and a hill each of cucumbers and cantaloupe. We'll see how it all turns out!
Zucchini ready to flower
My volunteer potato plants, 6 in all. I'm pretty excited about them but also worried for the long term when I don't want them popping up in places where they don't belong!
3 heads of home grown broccoli into dinner tonight!
We had a minor pig escape incident when one piggy went through the particle board that had gotten a big hole from when prince ali was in there over our vacation. But Blain came out to help me keep the gate open and the other 2 pigs in while i hearded the lone piggy back inside Nate has since patched the hole and they are all very happy running around in the grass and rolling in their mud hole.
This cute boy continues to be on high alert for butterflies all over the property. He has caught 3 in the last week or so and loves it!
