"4 month" check up: Avenlea's 4 month check up is actually more like 5 months since she will be 5 months in 2 days. We changed doctors and are now going to Dr. Larson (Dr. Dave as people call him) here in Heber. I must say the 2 minute drive beats the 40 minute one to Provo. All is well, her tear ducts are still clogged but other than that she is happy and healthy. He suggests starting solids this month and working on some sleep training to get her to sleep though the night. She is so much more interactive with smiles and laughs coming much more readily. She is getting closer to sitting up on her own and loves toys that light up, sing and spin. We love you Avenlea!
She is 13 lb 7 oz (20th percentile) and 25 3/4 inches (50th percentile)
Sweet little smile
Playing with her toes after bathtime - her favorite way to be is in her baby skins. When all else fails I change her diaper and giver her belly smoothies and she always gets super happy.
Blain: My sweet Blain is getting so big and may be past the worst of his Terrible Twos. He does good listening, rarely hits anymore, and is eating on his own (no more fighting with him every dinner). He still wins the prize for biggest mess maker, best sleeper, and cutest boy. We are so happy to have you in our family Blainito!
Blain loves cereal, especially fruit loops, frosted flakes and mini wheats. This is just one of the instances that wins him biggest mess maker. That is about the bottom forth of a bag of frosted flakes scattered around the table. Good thing for our Dyson!
Pretend sleeping. Even after his 4 hour naps he still likes to cuddle and fake sleep. He will say, "mommy wrap me" or "mommy spread it" so I can get his blue blanket ready for him to sleep as he pretends to be a puppy or baby going for a nap.
Cutie boy helping mix the brownies, "can I mix it really fast?" I made those brownies off of Shamene's blog sayitwithcake.org. My first time making brownies from scratch.
Chloe Rose: Chloe is getting ready to turn 4 in a month and a half I can't believe how big she's getting. She is my good helper these days. She always cleans up her playdough and princesses, puts her bowls and plates away in the sink, and throws her dirty clothes in the laundry basket. She is learning to read and spell which is just Blowing our Minds! Grandma Janice sent some easy read books that I used when I was learning to read. She can sound out a lot of the words and puts it all together. She read the book Jet Bed and Max to me today as we go through each word, she is still learning what spaces mean so she just does all the sounds in a fast chain then says each word as she realizes where the break is. We love how expressive she is with her arms and hands while talking, she seems like she is always making a presentation when she tells us anything. She is a big Sunbeam is Primary now and her teachers all say she is behaving very well and participating in Sharing time and the lessons. Life would not be the same without our Chloe.
Helping with the Brownies
wearing her hair "curly" after sleeping in braids
Cutting and Glueing "in my legs" as she says whenever she doesn't have pants on
