Winter updates

Since it's been snowing like crazy and freezing cold every day, there hasn't been much going on since after Christmas, but I'll hit some fun highlights:

1. Nate built the Composter! We bought this 65 gallon composter over a year ago but with all the assembly it required we just never got around to it. So Nate took his President's Day off from school to build it for us. We now have chicken poop and food scraps turning into beautiful compost for the garden come spring. The babies were very helpful and got a couple days of playing in it before we moved it outside.

2. New Years Eve! We spent our last day in Florida celebrating the new year. We made resolutions and ate yummy food and played games. The babies stayed up until about 11 pm but got so cranky it didn't seem worth it to force them to stay up that last hour. Maybe next year babies!

Martinelli's: cheers to our health and everlasting beauty
Kiss at the new year
 Sweet sleepy babies

3. Activities in Florida: we went to a manitee preserve where the babies liked looking at fish and birds but the Manitees were a little beyond their scope of vision - they were on the far side of the river but we saw a face, flipper and tail! Afterwards we went to Steak and Shake with amazing shakes - it was their "happy hour" so we got discounts too!
Group date!! All five of us and our counterparts went out to some authentic southern BBQ with some of the best BBQ sauce I've had. The ribs were amazing and we all stuffed ourselves silly. It was the first time we've done a 5 way group date.

Boat rides on Mamma's lake! The babies wore life jackets that unfortunately were gender switched because of the sizes so little Blain zoomed around in a pink flowery life jacket :) Chloe has a fun story about the 3 big birds she saw on the lake, how they flapped their wings and the sound they made to try and scare her and daddy away!

Blain's first haircut! It only took 18 months but Blain was finally ready for a haircut and with Aunt Chelsea ready and willing he was a good boy and sat relatively still. He looked so handsome afterwards!

Chloe got more puzzles for Christmas and she spent most of her time sitting at this little table doing her Dora puzzles. She is so proud every time she finishes one. I'm so proud of my sweet big girl!

Matching Jammies for Christmas Eve for all the cousins!!
